The Runswick Bay Hotel is situated at the top of Runswick Bay in the upper village. It is only a 5 minute walk to the hidden gem of the beach itself and a 5 minute walk in the opposite direction along the clifftop on the Cleveland Way route to see the sea view from a height.
The Cleveland Way runs through its car park and it provides the perfect spot to eat, drink and sleep. With six individually styled bedrooms it provides a comfortable overnight respite, and its breakfasts are renowned for their generosity and high quality components.
The menu is varied and changes seasonally, always with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. The food is cooked on site by resident chefs. A warm welcome is guaranteed, and a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits is always available. The décor throughout is stylish and cosy, and a roaring fire is sure to warm the cockles of the most weary traveller in the winter months.
There are two bar areas and a dining room, where tables can be reserved for lunch and dinner throughout the year.
As with The Royal, winter opening hours can vary, so it is worth checking them before heading to the Runswick Bay Hotel. All parts of the Runswick Bay Hotel are dog friendly, and the resident landlord Ted the brown Labrador is sure to offer an exuberant welcome.
Our Rooms
We have six double rooms, all of which are en-suite. One room is a family room which sleeps four in a double bed and comfortable bunk beds. We also have a four poster bed available which is ideal for a romantic break. Division into twins is available on request in certain rooms.
All rooms include comfortable beds, fluffy towels, quality toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities.
Please state on booking any specific requests and we will do our best to accommodate them. On rare occasions we need to reserve the right to change your room to one of similar or better specification.
All our rates include a full English breakfast. Check in time is 4 pm and check out is 10.30 am.

Our rear dining room can be booked for private events all year round, and out of season we are sometimes able to accommodate larger parties by booking out the whole venue for exclusive use.
